Learning Goals


JessicaFunded by the Department of Education and produced by Sesame Workshop in 2009 to engage 5 – 9 year olds, The Electric Company offers an opportunity for you to extend your child’s learning at home by focusing on important areas of their literacy development.  These areas include the ability to figure out letter sounds, how those sounds blend into making words, mapping those words in print, expanding vocabulary, and understanding what your child is reading.  The Electric Company also brings your child a love of reading. 

 The wildly popular adventure game, The Adventures of The Electric Company on Prankster Planet, targets math concepts like probability, coin value, measurement and graphing.  Each two-minute animation ends in a cliffhanger that invites your child to go online and use their math skills to help their heroes save the day.
